Warmer weather is slowly making its debut. Rainfall is nourishing nature, making grass greener and healthy leaves cover tree branches. Birds are chirping happily. Flowers are blossoming. These are all signs that spring is finally here!
It is time to put away that winter coat and snow boots, and start trading them in for shorts and t-shirts, flip-flops, and sunglasses.
I, for one, recently was eager to get some spring cleaning done. I was determined to clean and rearrange my room and most of all, go through and reorganize my personal library.
Books have been a big part of my life and I’ve loved reading since I was a little girl. In the book world, a lot of readers sometimes joke, or truly fantasize, about owning a library as big as the one in Beauty and the Beast. It’s quite impressive!
While my collection of books could hardly compete, I still enjoy filling my shelves with books I love or borrowing them to try something new through recommendation.
Everyone has their own version of a Book Haul meme. Some of them that you might be more familiar with are The Story Siren’s In My Mailbox or Tyngas Reviews’ Stacking the Shelves. But I’m not much of a follower, so I created my own!
In a feature I call “Building my Library,” I will be sharing the books that I add to my reading collection. This will include books I buy from the store or online, borrow from friends or the public library, advanced reading copies (books for review), gifts, audio books and eBooks.
Advent calendars are a running tradition in my family and it is a fun way to countdown to Christmas. The most common one is opening the tiny doors to little treats of chocolate. This year Penguin Canada is helping book lovers celebrate the holidays with their Daily December Delights holiday campaign.
Every day you can check their website, clicking on the appropriate day to find a different featured book as well as enter for prizes, exclusive giveaways, and partake in fun trivia and quizzes. Visiting the website often allows you a better chance to win their grand prize too – $750 worth of books!
I can definitely build a mini library for myself with that much.
The campaign runs from December 1 to December 31, so you have loads of time to enter to either expand your own book collection or win a few prizes for the book lover in your family.
Join the discussion on their social networks, using #PenguinDelights.
