Snow has finally arrived in my part of the neighbourhood! While it would have been wonderful to have snow on Christmas day, it’s better late than never. Living in Canada, I, as well as other Canadians, love their seasons and I was starting to miss the snow. Winter isn’t really winter without a little white on the ground. Now is the best time to curl up on the couch, sitting by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows alongside a good book. Continue reading

Much like Harry Potter becoming a household name in the wizard world in the books, he has become one too in ours, the Muggle world. The novels had become a phenomenon, paving the way for other children and young adult novels to take the spotlight and become franchises too. It was a great experience being a part of the Harry Potter generation, having grown up with the books.
It’s been nearly 14 years since I last opened and flipped through the pages of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. And I’m happily doing a Harry Potter re-read with some blogger friends, reliving the stories and experiencing them in a new way.

Ever hear of Harry Potter? If you haven’t, have you been living under a rock?
Heard of Twilight? Most of us have. If you managed to escape the damaging shrills of vampire fan girls, lucky you.
So what do these big name book titles have in common? Well, they all became a phenomenon.
In the book world, it gets hit with a new phenomenon, on average, in a cycle of every five years. Once you realise what the newest hot trend is, it is sometimes too late to jump onto the bandwagon—at least, for writers.
