Last year was the first time I heard about DAVIDsTEA’s advent calendar. Unfortunately, they sold out in only a few hours, but this year I was lucky enough to nab one!

As a tea lover, I think it’s a great way to discover new teas. If you love hauls or tea, check out my DAVIDsTEA Holiday Unboxing video: Continue reading

The Penguin Hotline & My Favourite Book Recommendation

Sometimes, the best books are the ones that you haven’t discovered yet. I’ve been a reader and book lover for as long as I can remember. While I am picky about the books I read and trust my own judgments about which ones I’d like to read next, I do welcome book recommendations, especially from trusted book nerds such as myself. At times, it’s a hit and miss. But when someone shares a gem, it’s a wonderful experience to become a fan of a book other people have grown to love too.

This December, the Penguin Hotline asked book bloggers: what was the best book that has ever been recommended to you? Continue reading

Penguin Canada’s Daily December Delights: An Advent Calendar for Book Lovers

Advent calendars are a running tradition in my family and it is a fun way to countdown to Christmas. The most common one is opening the tiny doors to little treats of chocolate. This year Penguin Canada is helping book lovers celebrate the holidays with their Daily December Delights holiday campaign.

Every day you can check their website, clicking on the appropriate day to find a different featured book as well as enter for prizes, exclusive giveaways, and partake in fun trivia and quizzes. Visiting the website often allows you a better chance to win their grand prize too – $750 worth of books!

I can definitely build a mini library for myself with that much.

The campaign runs from December 1 to December 31, so you have loads of time to enter to either expand your own book collection or win a few prizes for the book lover in your family.
Join the discussion on their social networks, using #PenguinDelights.

Leave a comment below if you countdown the days of Christmas with an advent calendar or share some traditions you enjoy doing during the holidays.

In the words of the film’s narrator Mr. Sassafrass, “Great chattering chick-chicks!”

It’s one of my favourite lines from the movie. I couldn’t resist.

Rankin & Bass, 1971
