Poem: A Crowded Zoo

poem-crowded-zoo-header

Keep sinking

And watching the air bubbles float to the surface

Feeling the chill in my bones

And wondering if this is the life I want to live

Sometimes, my spirit is dying

And I creep inside my shell

Alone and just hiding

Shadows creeping like stalkers again

And no one’s there to take their hand

Cause the rest of them are growing up too

And they’re panicking and in despair

What a crowded zoo
